I'll be posting more as I get it cleaned up, but my first Lexus just showed up 10 minutes before work. This is going to be a long day waiting to drive it!

Congrats on the new car. I just got mine recently too and love it! You are going to have some great days ahead I think. The longest day though, that's tough....

Haha, awesome. I'd get no work done! Yes, how did the shipping of the car go?

Very nice congrats! I just got mine too, but haven't been able to take it on a long trip yet. I may drive somewhere this weekend. What are the specs on the car?

Thanks, everybody!

It was shipped from Palm Springs to a dealer auction in Riverside where I bought it. Then it shipped from there to Bellingham, WA. It's not cheap or fast to do, but it was worth it to get the right car.

It's a 2002 custom luxury package with 105k miles, tons of service history, clean title, no accidents. It is mystic sea opalescent with the Ecru perforated leather and blackwood interior.

My first steps with it are to have it checked out for any maintenance needs (nothing major expected), detail it, and get PDR done on a couple door dings. In a brief inspection this morning, it didn't look like anything would need paint work to make it look good as new.

That sounds beautiful. We'll need pics to confirm it of course.

Took her for a drive at lunch and I'm impressed! So far the repair needs look like:

- Subwoofer sounds like it's blown. Going to get it out and see if it can be refoamed or if i need a new one. I hear they are absurdly expensive.
- Power folding doesn't work on the right side mirror.
- Wiper blades were shot, so I put some new OEM ones on.
- Trunk struts are worn out. Looks like they're $132 each so I might wait a bit on those.
- Two very small door dings that I'll have PDR'd out.
- In need of headlight lens restoration. I worked as a detailer for a few years so that's no big deal.

I'm hoping to get this into perfect condition since I'm very picky about my cars.

-Oh and it probably needs seat air filters

You can use an aftermarket sub. Just stick with one that is at least 8 ohms. Factory is between 12 - 16. I searched around and found an OEM for about $200 when I did mine. Very common for the sub to go. Also, 04's had issues with the door speakers degrading too.

I actually just read a DIY on here where somebody took it out and determined they are actually 2 ohm woofers but a refoam usually fixes them. I'll check it out after work to be sure.

I did re-foam on sub-woofer and front door woofers on my '01 and it sounds fine at full volume. If you decide to replace the sub on the rear package tray, get a 8 ohm dual voice coil sub so that can be wired in series for 16 ohm = OEM impedance.

It's definitely not 2 ohm sub. Running too low of an ohm rating will cause the amp to heat up and you might loose it. Much more expensive then the sub. 8 is the minimum. 16 is ideal. The ohms vary based on load but 12 - 16 is what the oem is rated at.
