How to remove the trunk lid insulation

I am trying to install a Garmin Backup camera, and I need to know how to remove the trunk lid insulation on my 03 LS430.

I have attached a picture of the fastener.

i used a tool like this, its an interior tool that i picked up at harbor freight, hope this helps

while applying prying force, do a back and forth rocking motion at the same time.
