Exclamation No Options

I recently inherited a base model LS430. This car is truly a base level car. Looking at the options list for 2006, this car has none of them. I gave the car to my wife and she was really disappointed to hear that it didn't even have heated seats. The base stereo is also a little disappointing too. This is still a great car and what a deal....clean, free and only 72,000 miles.

I’m not really in to aftermarket upgrades. I like original equipment. Is there any way to add a few toys to this car? (Lexus heated seats or a better Lexus stereo) I don’t mind a project and spending a little money but I don’t want to break anything.

The base stereo sounds better then the upgraded stereo... Why would you want a outdated nav system that never really worked well. I know, I had one. LOL.

Any car audio shop can install heated seats for like 250 and they are gonna be faster than the OEM seats I bet to heat up. Can't get cooled seat but the cooling is next to a fart in a windstorm anyway. No Nav so what I think the manual controls on the non nav LS's are just as good. You have the headlights, puddle lamps, multi way comfy seats, 6 speed tranny, led tail lights its still a nice ride.

The only thing I would miss, and I have seen one totally base myself, is smart key and I do not think you can add that. The stereo I thought was OK on the premium I think it is the same on the base. I would start with new speakers and check the sub they have a history of being crap and blowing. Can a new amp be upgraded on the non nav LS's easily, do not know?

Don't think I've ever seen one that did not have heated seats...thought all LS430's had heated seats...
And as far as ladies are concerned I can see how no heated seats can be a deal breaker...

Let's see.. a clean, free, low mileage LS... and you're thinking of complaining...
Not sure I'd bring that up on this forum... Most if not all, had to pay for ours... lol

Enjoy the ride...at least for now when you don't need headed seats..

Firstl, it was inhereted so why complain? I'm sure you can add a "double DIN" radio, and if you want ensure it has Nav in it. The heated seats, as stated above, can be added for a few hundred more. So, you put about a thousand in it, you have all you want. I'd say an 06 Lexus for free is nothing to complain about. If you want to sell it, let us know, lol...

I don't think he is complaining he said it was a great car. Use the same amp add better speakers, heated seats they will put the switch on the bottom plastic seat frame. Enjoy!

Since you inherited it with no cost, suggest you just sell it and buy one that has all the goodies on it. That would probably be cheaper that trying to add on to the existing car and not being OEM. Buying an upgraded one would be the cheapest car you ever bought. Just my opinion.

Beatsonic double din kit with any of the newer model pioneer/alpine navigation/dvd units would be light years away from any factory upgrade. Throw in New speakers and subwoofer and you're golden.

If you got it free I'd dump a few grand in her and enjoy.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the feedback and experience you have with these cars. No. I not complaining. I love this car! I plan on keeping it. Sounds like a 100% base model in 2006 was rare.

Just looking for something to more to do and have fun doing it. Everybody need a hobby. Keeps me out of trouble.

This is my first Lexus and I'm very impressed. Great site too!

My understanding is that all US market LS430s had heated front seats, even the Base model.
The Premium package added cool to the front seats and heat to the rear seats.
Could you take a picture of the lower part of the console (where the seat heat/cool ***** would be located)?
Thanks very much.

I'd like to see an LS430 without heated seats. I haven't even seen a UCF30 Celsior without heated seats (and you can get those with cloth interiors)! It'd be a neat car.

I have a 2001 with the ML audio and a sunroof. My car has heated rear seats. I thought all four seats were heated from the factory. Am I mistaken in thinking this?

I don't have a photo of mine but here is a link to a 2001 LS 430 without heated seats. They are very rare. Found this one on e.bay. (Florida car) Has a Lexus punch out where the temp. control would be. I bet a 2006 without heated seats would be even rarer.

My heated seats go on in the garage and heat up like when I get north of Oshkosh. Easily 15 minutes you are not missing much.

I don't know why the cooled seats get such a bad wrap. I think they work well. Within a few min of turning them on I notice the difference. Make sure to clean the seat filters if you have not.
