EBC REDS on 05 LS430
My o5 had OEM and I was not happy with them.. As on my motorcycles I like to be able to stop as fast as I can go and always use EBC. Bought a full set of EBC reds. WOW Now that's what I was looking for and dust is about half. You might give these a try. Around $250 for front and back.
what is the difference with these ,,,im assuming its the material they are made of ?
I know nothing about pads in all honesty,,i used to go and ask for the cheapest set possible on all my other cars ,,but now with a great car like the LS I don't want to skimp on costs all the time.

I have the Ultimax compound on my EURO '01, and they're absolutely great. Feel is very similar to factory and dust has gone down significantly. I have noticed a couple of screeches but that's literally two times in the last 3000 miles I've done with the pads
Green - Organic Oem Quality stop on dime ...5c shange
RED - Ceramic Blend - high performance Light track 9 cents change
Yellow - Track performance...need to stay warm to hot to work their best

Great pads but may be over kill for an LS. I use Akebono for my LS and they fit and work very well. I was thinking about buying EBC Reds for my Jaguar XJS because Akebono does not make a pad for the XJS...
I agree XJSfan as they may be a little overkill...but I would rather have to much braking power than not enough in an emergency
After 100k on motorcycle's you never have to much power or too powerful set of brakes. Would have been happy to stay with OEM for half the price but was only getting half the stopping power. With the 245/18 tires I can uses the extra power vs the standard 225/17 tires. everyone has a feel they are happy with. Here in Florida we have lots of rain and oil slick roads and Snowbirds and all reguire great brakes. I used the OEM for two weeks but was not happy so even though they were about 5/8 good I changed them out and very happy.

Sorry, but putting ebc pads (especially red) is complete and utter madness. It's not cheap american sedane...
They will eat up the rotors, make LOADS of bad dust, will produce noise etcetcetc.
I use japanese brands only (akebono, jnbk).

I've been looking at the Akebono pads and was wondering how much dust they produce. I want as little dust as possible.
Have used EBC's on my 03 430, 04 430 and 04 470 along with SS brake lines for several years now.
Wouldn't go back to any other brand.
Stops like the old Supra TT.
Car washes were created for dust.
no issues with rotors, only use brembo blanks in all the cars and aftera total of over 100k miles total, never had a rotor wear down or warp.

good to know. The stock pads in my ls400 are "adequate" but you really have to press onto them hard to get the tires to lock up. I like having more initial bite with my brakes so the pedal is "right there" instead of being halfway thru the travel to get a full lock.
