Has anyone tried to offer an audio specialty shop a trade of their mark levinson amplifier and speakers for aftermarket. My current ML speakers sound awful and the sub is blown. I see ebay listings between $500 up too $1000. Has anyone here or heard of anyone getting a big discount on new sound system by letting the shop keep the old equipment?

 

No audio shop is going to give you anything for your used amp. It is really only worth what you can get for it selling it on eBay or similar. It's also not too hard to fix the system. The sub can be replaced with a standard 8 inch or getting the factory. I found the factory one on eBay for about $150.00, which is a good deal considering they go for about $320.00

If you have blown door speakers they can be replaced or re-coned as well. Tons of other threads with other sub choices for pretty cheap. Just get at least an 8 ohm sub.

i bought the polk audio replacement and eminence eminnator door speakers. I am installing tomorrow with a friend i will let you know how it goes.
