Default 2002 ls 430 front bushings

I'm pretty sure I need my front bushings replaced, and was quoted about $600. Has anyone else had their front bushings replaced, and if so, what did you pay? I hope this isn't to personal.

I had my lower control arm bushings replaced by my Lexus dealer. Parts were $217 and labor $575.

Don't be afraid to negotiate with the dealer. Mine will often match independent shops prices on labor. Source the part yourself and save $$$.

how do you know your front bushings are shot?

My car all of a sudden is falling apart, struts gone, brakes gone, and its shaking a lot on the highway

Usually popping and / or a clunk sound when going over rough road or coming to a complete stop. Front and rear sway bar links will also pop then they go bad.

thanks lavrish, and I do have that as well, clunking over bumps, especially on my front right wheel area.

I had my car inspected, and was told that my upper struts will need replacing, but the clunk was that of my two motor mounts.

My front lower LCA bushings ate pretty dry and shot as well. I was looking at aftermarket ones made by ROCA for $75 a pair. I might get those and press em in at my shop.

The most common to go are caster arms, lower and upper control arms, and the 3 motor mounts. We often refer to the rear one as the transmission mount but Lexus calls it a motor mount. Both my caster arms were replaced by the previous owner. I've done the rear motor mount and my steering rack bushings. I will be doing my front two before too long. They don't look bad or cracked but after about 100k it's pretty much recommended to go ahead and replace them. Don't go aftermarket on the motor mounts.

Roca, in my research from the LS400 too, is the best aftermarket option. They are urethane like oem vs polyurethane like many others. Poyl's will ruin the ride quality.
