Default Accident Coverage

My kid tapped a snowbank and I have like 2k damage to my Highlander. It could have been my LS for that matter.

I called the police and I guess I will have to do an accident report? My insurance will make me have an accident report anyway? I will have a carfax accident report thru my insurance and/or police department? The body shop said they do not report them.

How do I get favorable remarks on a carfax "lite damage airbags did not deploy" or something like that.

Darn kid last time he drove my LS the sub was blown and power steering pump weaker.

Anyway not sure anyone can help but you guys are a smart bunch. Thanks

Thanks I guess that is the call. For 1000 bucks wondering if it is worth a carfax report and ins claim with my 500 deductible. I would think a carfax report is a 1k hit but that is money down the road.

I would get it fixed. The loss from a carfax report is not going to be much. Less then $500. Devaluation is based on amount of damages. Then you just let people know it had minor repair. For 2 grand in damage I would not eat the $1500 on top of what you already pay per month. Then find the highest rated best of the best auto body shop and tell them no expenses spared.

Am in the process of getting Highlander fixed. I was told by the adjuster the car fax report would reflect the initial phone claim to the insurance department even prior to the estimate.

My first report was a damaged bumper without mention of the fender or headlight. I will see how this plays out.
