Default 2003 Lexus LS430 - Open Diff or LSD

Hello,

I have a 2003 Lexus LS430. It's a Canadian model. Just wondering if these cars came with an open differential or a limited slip differential.

Thanks!

From what the experts say, no LS4xx came from the factory with LSD.

Good to know. Cheaper to repair I guess. A LSD would be nice for the winter though.

I know 6 years past , I was wondering if you found out if you had a LSD in your car . I just got a 2003 originally from Canada , the only difference I observe is the heavy duty water heater ice defroster for the windshield .

yes the answer is no. None of these cars came with a limited slip differential (LSD). I’m fact I’m Canada I believe the only model offered was the “base” version which is still pretty luxurious in my opinion.

In Canada, the Ultra Luxury package was available throughout 2001-2006 LS430, as well as in the LS460. My 2002 LS430 with the UL package was originally from Erin Park Lexus in Mississauga. ULs are just very rare to find in Canada, took me 2 years to find one with the colors I liked.

The UL package is the only package with:
* Air suspension, so the lower center stack panel will have 3 switches - suspension (sport/norm), height (high/norm), throttle (power/normal/snow), and the lowest center stack panel will have a rear seat position reset button (to lower power headrests and to unrecline the power reclining seats)
* Rear AC - air vents on the entry light above the rear doors , cool box (fridge) behind the center rear armrest
* Trunk contains a long rectangular black cover in the top right (for rear AC system) instead of a ski passthrough in the center
* Rear seats power recline, power headrest, and memory buttons by the interior door open handle
* Rear armrest contains AC and audio control panel
* Rear window manual sunshades (look for sunshade tab at bottom of window, hooks at top of window)

Both Custom Luxury and Ultra Luxury can have:
* Semi-aniline leather upgrade and alcantara headliner
* Headlamp washers and lowest center stack headlamp washer switch
* Adaptive Cruise Control (laser for 2001-2003, radar for 2004+)
