Tire Pressure Sensors

Anyone know if I I need the tire pressure sensors. I need to install wheels but new sensors cost an arm and a leg

These aren't that bad. I just got some aftermarket Dorman-branded ones for a new CT200h winter tires, and they were 32$/each from www.RockAuto.com, plus shipping.

The dealer typically sells them for 50$/ea.

But you don't "need" them if you can live with the light in the dash - I can't so I got two sets of sensors for both sets of wheels.

The LS430 doesn't use in wheel direct sensors. It uses the abs sensors and relative rotation changes based on base seting to determine if pressure low.

I imagine that the OP might be referring to the Hall effect transducers for the ABS system. As AlexusAnja said, there are no pressure sensors in the tires (unless they are part of an after-market system).
