To be honest, I don't know if you need one but that's what most people use in their LS430's from pics I've seen. It comes with wiring harness and trim to make flush with your dash. It's basically plug and play. Its a few hundred dollars though. It comes with instructions and I was able to do mine myself. Only hard part was cutting this bar inside the double din area from where I removed OEM stereo. That's where youll need a dremel or some sort of easy access/slim cutting tool.
I had a 01 LS430 without navigation and without mark levinson package
My new 01 LS430 is also without nav and without ML package... but the stereo is alive and well in this LS so I wont be swapping decks out until I'm done with suspension and some interior stuff like neck pads, pillows, table, etc :-D
I got my beat-sonic kit on Amazon.com for the first LS430 I had because I got the car with a dead stereo deck.
I wouldn't be able to help much on what you're doing because I don't know exactly what you are working with... lol after you removed OEM stereo, did you have to cut a bar inside the double din area??

Thanks kenTHUNDER is there a way to do it without one? I have a double din pioneer deck and cut into my stock harness cause I found the wire diagram. apparently I would need more that than cause the sounds not working.

You have to do an amplifier bypass.. Find the amp (right side of trunk), get all the speaker outputs from the amp and either run an aftermarket amp or run it off your stereo.

Return the Totoya kit it will not work, it sure did not on my 05 Lexus LS430 trust me I tried. The OEM stereo has two wire plugs in the back and that kit does not hook up to both. I called their tech line and they were clueless even after I sent them pics. Cartoys is where I got that same kit and they did not know what to do they wanted to cut up the wires to see what they could do I said forget it. I am going to order the beatsonic first chance I get. If you look at the beatsonic wire harness kit ( close up pics) on the internet you can see it has the second harness to hookup the factoy amp to the aftermarket stereo. And of course everyone else on this forum highly recommends it. lesson learned on my next project i'll look on this forum first.

I was trying to get around to get around buying the Beatsonic kit but it seemed like a huge hassle without it. If you don't want the dash kit they will sell you just the wiring harness and antenna adapter. You can contact Beatsonic through the forum since they are a vendor here.
Beatsonic is the only one who makes the proper harness if I'm not mistaken. Supposedly Metra makes one according to a reputable car audio shop in my area. Their computer showed the Metra harness was around $100 but there was no information on it and nobody had ever seen it in person.
