LS430: UL vs CL? Which is better?
#32
I had a 2006 UL for a number of years as my daily driver. However, the -ex got it in the divorce. Sad. Anyway, I also ride motorcycles for the fun in the twisties and ride a twin=turbo Mitsu 3000 VR-4 for fun. The 2006 non-air-suspension car, on straight smooth roads was almost no different from the UL with air suspension. However, in curves and on poorly maintained roads (and the US has LOTS of those now), the difference is HUGE.
I can drive the 2006 UL almost as fast through curvy mountain roads as the sports car. Plus the curves appear to smooth out in the Lexus, creating less lean feelings for people in the car. Sure, you can get to the slamming edge and i did test that but the tires on the car I was driving were not wonderful enough to hit the max. Needless to say, i did not get that particular UL but I did get one. Loved it and now that the house is paid off, am looking for another to replace it!
My opinions.

UL is amazing...like the previous commenter posted it just floats over road imperfections, yet it is totally nimble through corners and you can take turns very quickly especially in sport suspension mode. It keeps the car very flat.
