Default Question on 01-03UL vs. 04-06UL

The LS430 has been on my list of cars to own since they came out, but I recently decided that I should finally get one before they get too old and there aren't any good ones left lol.

I have been on the lookout for an Flint Mica on Black 04-06 UL, but mainly just any 04-06 UL.

But I just came across an 03 Blue Onyx Pearl on ecru(I think) UL, the with ash birds eye wood.

I like the blue, and I like the ash wood, but I have never been a huge fan of light colored interiors.
But this car has 50xxx miles and is a good price at a Lexus dealer.

SO my question is aside from the obvious body changes/transmission for 2004 and the fact that the rear seats are NOT ventilated with UL, what differences would there be between the 01-03 UL and the 04-06 UL? And am I better off sticking with my original plan of finding an 04-06 UL.

Thanks guys!!

03 Blue onyx

On a side note, has anyone ever seen a UL without nav before??
This one is in Hawaii, maybe they dont need nav there? lol

My unerstanding is that the Canadian ULs did not have Nav. My guess would be that it was an issue with the map/POI database not covering Canada.
Please correct me if anyone knows better.
If you can get a picture of the VIN placard (on the driver's door frame), it might shed some light on the situation.

I have read from a Hawaiian member that the UL in Hawaii doesn't have Nav. He said they don't need it.

I personally think that the styling upgrades from 2004 are enough to justify limiting one's search to just the 2004-2006. From an interior and a ride and drive perspective, theres really not much difference. I actually like that 03 ecru interior with the ash wood, although those seats do get dirty. The Ecru interior on the 04+ with the UL has the orange bird's eye maple which I don't care for.

BUT...quite frankly I always found the 01-03 a homely looking car, where the 04-06 is very attractive. I'd hold out for an 04.

Ahhhh homely, thats not nice!

I'd have to agree though there was always something about it that I didnt like as much as the 04-06.
04-06 looks much more modern.

Can anyone else chime in about any differences between 01-03 UL and 04-06 UL?
