Rim Prices
Heading south to see dear old mom this weekend and a fella has 17 inch chrome rims for sale he says are perfect. I did fine in snow with 225/55/17s but the new ride has 245/45/18's.
How much do you have to pay for new rims on the low-medium side?, and are there any do's don't with rims to look out for so I can have them true and steady at any speed. Name brands to look for shy or away from. The Lexus ones he wants 550 I was thinking 400 as he has had em awhile. Flawless is pretty hard to miss in a description? Thanks Warm I am going to check Tire rack now also

It depends on if tires are included. I would say $300 is good with decent tires. The few times I've seen the 17"s for sale locally they were around $300-$400 depending on condition and if they included tires. They're not as desirable as the OEM 18"s so you should be able to get a good deal.
Since they are chrome, look for any bends. They can be hard to notice right away so do a thorough inspection. I had a bend in one of my wheels and it was really to tell it was there since my wheels looked brand new.
