Default Block Rear AC From Console?

Something I've noticed (and maybe this shouldn't be happening) is when I close the rear seat ac vents on my front center console, the contents inside are ice cold (from the cars AC.) I can also feel cold air bleeding out of the console. I would prefer this cold air not be wasted.

There's a vent inside the console that's removable, has anyone ever placed a block plate in there in order to just cut off the AC from the console altogether and keep it on the front vents?

I live in Arizona, with a charcoal car and black leather seats. I need all the extra cold air I can get

My old ES300 had incredibly cold AC, I mean that thing was a meat locker. I wonder if a big part of it was that it didn't have a rear cooling option. My LS is not bad in that department, but no question the ES was better.

I guess you could just stuff something like a small rag down there, just curious if there's a more elegant solution.

If your A/C can't cool the car down and keep it cool without running on high all the time, then there's something wrong with your A/C. Low freon or a failing compressor or something.

By "cooling option" are you saying that you have a UL with the additional rear A/C system? That provides even more cooling, as it is independent of the front system. If so, make sure the rear A/C is turned on and leave it on during the hot AZ summers. My car is cool in a matter of a few minutes. Never had a car with this good an A/C.
