Default Key Reprogram

I know a new SmartKey can be reprogrammed to replace one that is lost and the blade cut to match. Can a key be reprogrammed from one car to another or will there be an issue with the actual blade/lock cylinder being different. Can the blade be changed and recut? Thanks

I'm using a Smart Key that will need a new blade. Some locksmiths have them. If you look near the foot of the blade you'll see a very tiny screw that needs to be removed to pull the old blade out. I had the blade cut before getting the key programmed. Before the programming we changed cars. So old blade in a new Smart Key.

I've heard differing answers on whether a Smart Key that has received the programming for one car can be reprogrammed for a new car. There is a bunch of self-programming info for keys on the forum. I've tried them and none of them worked for me.
