Update - I'm going to give some other 6000k bulbs a try, as I mentioned in my first post I didn't really like my 6000k ultinons. Didn't like the slight purple colour they gave off in the ls430 headlight. I'll post pics and type when my new bulbs arrive.

I've ordered some Mtec 6000k bulbs from the USA. I will see what they are like. I hope they are the colour I'm looking for because i've spent quite a bit of $$ on trying to get a white/blue look without compromising on light output! I don't really want to go higher than 6000K if I can help it.
I could have bought Mtec's from my own country in Australia, but for some reason the Mtec ones available to me here use the Philips capsules with the red salt (which I suspect are in fact identical to the Philips Ultinon capsule) I thought there's no point in trying those because I have already tried the Original Philips 6000K Ultinons and they will probably be the the same colour- white/purple.
The Mtec's sold in the USA seem to use a GE capsule so I'm hoping this will produce a different colour in the LS430 projector - ie more white/blue as opposed to the white/purple of the 6000k Ultinons.
I reckon if you're after a slight blue/purple then maybe the Philips 6700k might be the ones for you.
My new bulbs will probably take about 10 days to arrive, so I will post up pics when I get them. It will be interesting to see how they compare to my current Osram CBI's which are often said to be the 'Rolls Royce' of bulbs in terms of light output and a hint of colour.

Ok, here's an UPDATE - it's both good and bad at the moment
My new bulbs arrived today. So I installed the first one, turned on my lights....... and YES! i finally found the colour I had been looking for. Awesome Very white with a hint of blue exactly what I wanted. (Ignore the green colour of my led parking lights - They are actually white in real life but the camera just shows them as green colour)
I then went on and replaced the second bulb on the other side but much to my disappointment, the second bulb appears to be faulty. The colour of it is very different to the first bulb and appears to be only a tiny, tiny bit whiter and looks just like the stock yellowish colour
I double checked the bulbs and even swapped them from one side to the other but it made no difference. One is clearly yellowish .
I just emailed the supplier to exchange them. In the meantime I've had to take them out. Here's a few pics so you can see what I mean:
I cant comment on actual light output driving at night compared to my Osram bulbs because I just took them straight back out.
I will update the post later hopefully with some good results.

UPDATE from me. I sent back the mis-matched bulb and received new ones from the seller who was very helpful and they are exactly what I was looking for!
These bulbs are ice white with that hint of blue I was after. I was sick of buying other bulbs and not getting the white I wanted. I think the look is perfect and I think this a fantastic balance between colour and light output. Obviously compared to stock 4300k you do technically lose some brightness by going with higher K's, but it is minimal and only seems to be noticable at sides.
As per my previous posts I went with Mtec 6000k. I made sure I got the ones with the GE capsules as Mtec also have them with the philips capsule but I didn't want that slight purple colour that I experienced before with the philips ultinon. I bought the Mtec's from Car Light Trends in USA as I cant get these bulbs in Australia.
I have been so pleased with the colour/light that I also bought a matching 6000k kit for my fogs from the same seller. I already have a philips HID 6000k in my fogs but they look kind of stock now compared to the mtec's.
Hope this helps everyone who was after that same 'ice white look' that I wanted. I wish I had bought these bulbs first and not spent heaps of $$$$ on the Ultinons.
I havent had a chance to install the Mtecs in the fogs but will post pics when I do. I am hoping the colour will be a very close match to my new headlight bulbs.
