Default Non HID 9006 Replacement Bulbs

Well unfortunatly my GS didnt come with HID's so I am wondering if there is a decent bulb replacement that gives off a blue tint. I know PIAA has 9006 Hyper Brights but they are pure white with no hint of blue. Do you guys have any other options for me besides buying an HID kit. Thanks in advance.

I want to know which 9006 bulbs are for non - HID too!

=)

Also, I know lots of people are using the Polarg M6's as wedge bulbs... my question for this is ... any need to change anything to make up for the different wattage?

I didnt really pay attention in my electronics classes.

i searched this site all over for three hours yesterday while waiting for something and noticed that there have been concerns about the extra wattage, but there really isn't much to do about it. apparently, it can last for at least two years but some have said it'll burn out quicker. no one i could find gave any horror stories about damage though. i ordered some from www.optautosalon.com just minutes ago for about $26 for three. freakin shipping was $11. everyone said they break easily if poorly handled, so there's a back-up for breaking it or for the burn-out to come. oh, i'm talking about polarg m-6 by the way

Running overwattage bulbs can damage your housing AND you harness...NOT inexpensive pieces to replace. You should always stay with the same wattage (or damn near close).

I also recommend only name brand bulbs like PIAA, Raybrig, Koito, Vestec, etc., etc...there are LOT of cheap bulbs out there that are made very poorly.

I've seen many of them burst (but this can happen from touching the bulb also) and leave a nice "powder coat" inside the lense which is impossible to clean w/o taking the headlamp unit apart. Basically, if it blows, you're screwed. You need a new housing...happen to me personally (crap bulb)...

I've seen overwattage bulbs MELT wiring harness...also happen to me personally...

Even though $50-$100 sounds like a lot ( ) to some people, trust me, it's worth it...find out much a headlight housing is...and find out how much a new headlamp harness is...then find out the labor charges....

Exclamation latex gloves

yea, what manaray said....and also be sure to pick up a pack of latex gloves at the auto market. I got a whole container of them for like $4.00 ........use them when you are handling the new bulbs.....and during the entire installation. The slightest trace of oils from your bare fingers can seriously compromise the life of your new bulbs and possibly lead to the type of situation that manaray mentioned previously on this thread.

Hope this helps.

Eric
