2004 mark lev stereo trouble

a friend has this car with this stereo and the stereo will play..then all of a sudden it makes some strange sounds like a popping sound...then it shuts off all by itself, then it will come back on again....im assuming the amp is the issue from what ive read these stereos are very problematic. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

what part

of the country, why i ask autosound in long beach ca helped with my mark lev and there very helpful.

so i need some direction here...who has sent their amps off to be repaired? and where did u send it? thank you..i tried autosound in long beach..but i dont see a website
