Default LS430 driving lights HID conversion...

Not sure I'm calling them by their proper name, but the lights just inside, and lower than the headlights that are on when you drive in daylight...

Someone on the forum did an HID conversion, but I cannot locate the thread...any help, comments on this?

Im assuming your talking about the DRL (daytime running lights). They are your high beams running at a lower voltage. I believe there are LED bulb kits that make the light bluer (or whatever color you choose), but you lose your high beam functionality.

You can run a HID, but I believe there is a high chance your gunna blind oncoming drivers (correct me if im wrong).

I didn't realize this. Bluer LED would work for me. Any idea on where available, brand, part number, etc?

You can try iJDMtoy ( http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Euro-Audi-H...Y&Search=Lexus ). I've used their LEDs (not for DRL) previously without issues, but I've heard of their bulbs burning out or sending error codes on a benz.

There should be a few vendors here that can help. I think one is JLC Lighting? V-LEDs has lots of good posts in the lighting section (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lighting-128/)

If your going for HIDs I would ask XenonDepot, HIDXTRA and see what they recommend.

Good luck!

These are DRL's right? They are only for oncoming drivers to see you better. Since they are high beams running at a lower voltage I would tread carefully here. What are you trying to do?

I simply prefer a brighter and whiter light in that slot. IT reminds me of an older cheaper car. I also upgraded the headlights and driving lights on my Harley for the same reason.

I don't have a need to put a bright light into the eyes of oncoming cars like on the Harley, but the stock lights just look bad to me.

The daytime running light is standard on all LS vehicles sold in Canada.

My car is a US made vehicle I bought in Canada, so whoever imorted the vehicle from the USA probably was required to install it - meaning for sure it can be done. Probably a Lexus part(s) and a bit of wiring to get it done.
