The VSC on the LS430 can be reset using a paper clip per the attached thread:http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums..._fromsearch__1

If you look closely at the post that describes the reset procedure, you will find a link to a diagram of the OBDC connector.

Not that it can't happen, but the VSC light is usually tiggered by something other than a gas cap issue.

thanks for the info, so every time you forget the gas cap, you have to reset, i will try what you said, but i am sure this the problem since she forgot to tighten after filling, i am just surprised you have to reset.

I've been advised by the dealer that the main cause is worn out oxygen sensors pre and post catalytic converter, which a total of 4 need to be replaced.

I've got the same problem on my 2005 LS430, and the VSC reset detailed in another post here on the forums did not work for me.

The term for that is "dealer B.S.".

Recently my VSC light has been on and off until it stayed on completely. I thought it was the gas cap but come to find out I had a small exhaust leak on the Y pipe. Patched it with some autozone exhaust tape yesterday. Started my car this morning to go to work and low and behold the light is off. I will keep a close eye on it though Because I know the pach won't last long But hopefully it will last until I get the pipe fixed or replaced.

VSC is Vehicle Stability Control. The loss of pressure in the fuel tank due to a missing gas cap will not turn on the VSC light. I hope whoever started that rumor never picks up a wrench!
