Default Oldest original OEM battery

I have a 2006 LS430 with its original OEM battery still going strong. Anybody else have original OEM battery in older LS430s?

The one in my 04 is still going strong. Swapped cars and left it home for a month and a half. Came back and she fired up right away

Techincally this should be properly measured to see what the cranking voltage is.

A battery can start a car perfectly fine, even when it's technically knackered.

Make it -10 outside, leave it for a couple of days and lets see what happens.

This thread is a thread of "who will be first to get stranded and where," because on modern cars you cam be running "fine" and then next trip it doesnt crank. Modern electronics don't even crank when it detects low voltage. My '04 had a "new" Interstate battery and only after 3 years it went dead and I was stuck in a parking lot.

+1. This is not a good thing to boast about.

I'm quite positive, my 06 has the original battery (280+K miles)
I run a neat little GPS device which plugs into the OBD port. Here's an alert which displayed on my monitor today.

"Low Vehicle Battery Detected Mon Dec 24 2012 4:51 PM"
Guess it may be time for a new battery.

Living in Florida, I change all my batteries after 3 years regardless of how strong they crank or pass any load test.. Being stranded somewhere in bumf...k in heavy rain or blisterring heat is never fun.

Agree most batteries in modern cars last 3-4 years. I have typically had to change batteries on most cars every 3-4 years. A recent Interstate Megatron lasted only 2 years in my wife's 07 Highlander. And the original OEM battery in that same car apparently lasted only 2 years.

Lexus must have put a very high quality battery in the LS430s.

Www.virtualfleetsupervisor.com. Awesome little device and extremely easy to navigate website for tracking your vehicles.
I installed the devices and didn't tell anyone for the 1st week. I calculated wasted fuel costs spent on idling my vehicles. Worked out around $15,000/year idling. I gave everyone notice to stop unnecessary idling, and now waste about $100/$120 a week. Saving about $10,000/ year.
$99/device & $25/ month per device.
Don't know how I ran my business without it. I can log on from any mobile device and see where all vehicles are located. System updates locations and info every 2 minutes.
I have 10 company vehicles so initial out of pocket was $1000 for devices + 2 months of service/device.
I am not involved with virtualfleetsupervisor , wish I was though. I love it. Plug into obd port, log into your account online and bam.
Would be very useful in monitoring kids driving habits/locating your stolen car.
