Default My LS430

I got myself one of these a couple of months ago.

Cost me 4500 GBP, which is around 7200 USD.

It's 2004 ( so has the premium pack as standard ), 2 owners, FSH, absolutely wonderful and had 79k on it. Interior is excellent condition, and I am overly picky about my cars!

Some cost comparisons with my E39 530i I had.

Lexus Dealer minor Service inc oil £120 - $195
BMW INDY equivalent Service Insp 1 inc oil - £200 - $320
Bmw main dealer insp 1 - £230 - $370
Lexus Brake Fluid flush at Toyota Dealer - £29.99 - $48
BMW Brake Fluid flush Indy - £50 - $75
Lexus Ferrodo Rear Pads -£25 - $38
BMW Ferrodo Rear Pads - £23 - $35
Lexus Specific Tranny Fluid - £40 / 6L - $65
BMW Specific Tranny Fluid - £100 / 6L - $160

Going to doing the full timing belt overhaul with waterpump, kit is around 80 gbp $130 for a Gates one and fitting is 50 gbp $80.

BMW are not for buying, it's for enjoying during a lease and then dump the problems to the CPO owner later.

What complete rubbish, they are perfectly runnable cars.

Plenty of information out there, plenty of specialists, no problem.

It's the time required to repair them that is annoying.

No one says that they don't run well WHEN they are running. I've never seen anyone say a bimmer handles like a mush box. During a lease, all maintenance is covered so you don't see anything but your lease payments and nothing major or even minor should break during a lease term so of course bimmers are great. Would anyone like to OWN a BMW from 36k to 120k?

What about the other half? in the poor house and pushing carts to work?

I'll take my chances with a Lexus.

I kinda have to disagree with the BMW bashing. I have only owned one model, a 2005 M3 convertible. It was a fabulous car. I drove the livin ****s out of this car for 80K miles with not one issue. I flogged this thing on the track, in the north ga mountains and just about everywhere I drove it. It was pure adrenaline to the max.

We're not bashing, we just like to make fun of BMW owners, that's all...

You got to 80K and then what? I see from your signature you don't own it, or don't have it listed on there.

80K is very good, but my family '94 Plymouth Voyager made it to 96K and was working fine with no issues too until it hit a guard rail and was totalled, but that's mean anything to anyone.

I sold my M3 and actually came out pretty well. Work started to keep me too busy and I was never really driving it much anymore.

Nice ride.Lexus is a great car but they do break and parts wear down just like any other car I know from experience. That being said the wifey just traded in our 2011 rx for a 2011 x3 cpo with like 12k miles. We had it for 2 months with no problems and it is a blast to drive and handles way better then my ls. We have a 6yr 100k mile warranty so if anything goes wrong back to the dealer. I just don't care for the runflat theory with no spare tire in the boot.
