I have never seen an LS offered as a loaner. Has anyone else seen an LS as part of the loaner fleet at a Lexus service department?

I think the LS is just too expensive for the Lexus service department to add to the loaner fleet. The added costs passed on to customers would start to get outrageous.

You might be able to get a salesperson to let you take an LS out as a pseudo loaner in hopes that you will fall in love with it and buy a brand new LS. But that car would not be a real loaner from the service department.

None in my dealership, mostly the RX/GX/ES and the other assorted tiny ones... although I did manage to snag a GS loaner while my LS got Trans service... that is one sweet car, for a V6 anyway.

Great find. So while it may be rare to offer an LS, it does happen. To me that's a funny instance, though, since "AsianGirl007" owned a lesser model. To offer an LS to someone like that does indeed seem wasteful....

It may not be too wasteful. Have you seen a picture of AsianGirl?
Actually a used '07 or '08 LS460 loaner might have a value less than a new ES350.

Getting back to the title of the thread. When I was researching comments about the LS430 from owners I came across this one. Its my all time favorite Lexus quote. I can't imagine any higher praise and it pretty much sums up how I feel about my LS430 UL:

"The LS430 Ultra proves that it's possible to conceive, design, and manufacture an automobile of such profound excellence and deep quality that it changes how you look at the concept of the car. It makes all the other cars seem irredeemably crude and tacky. It's so good in every respect that it simply cannot be appreciated without living with it and touring in it. How Lexus endowed a single automobile with all of everything is beyond me. This car is simply the highest quality manufactured artifact I have ever examined."

It is true, the LS430 UL is pretty much maxed out in quality and refinement humanly possible in an automobile. I owns and drive a 05' LS430 UL daily as my commuter, since quality and refinement is what this car is about and I really care about it, and I am lucky to be in a position to be able to test drive a varieties of very high end luxury cars, I try to see how high does it take to surpass the quality and refinement of the LS430 UL, I can honestly say I have not found a car that truely surpasses it, what I found so far is:

Last generation W220 S-Class is a joke, that was the low point of Benz, so doesn't count I guess.
This generation W221 S-Class and W216 S-Class coupe, pretty much matched the LS430 UL, but a few things are not as smooth or refined, but is very close.
Bentley Arnage, high wind noise, drivetrain not as refined, is a pretty old British car though, so is expected I guess. But it only came out 3 years before the LS430 did.
Bentley Continental Flying Spur, this car truely matched the LS430 UL in just about every ways, but is a $240k car new.
Never feel like driving a new 7-Series, A8 or Jaguar XJ, I imagine they won't be any better then the latest S-Class.

Really the only 3 cars that have a chance of truely surpassing the quality and refinement of the LS430 UL is the latest RR Ghost, Phantom and Bentley Mulsanne. I have not had a chance to drive those.

And the LS430 UL came out in 2001..........wow.

Also to note, the LS460's quality and refinement have gone down.

Unfortunately, I have found the LS430 ownership has actually spoiled me. I am very particular and at this stage in my life have reliability as the top priority in car ownership. Although I can continually see cars out there that are somewhat titillating in their design or performance, I always come back to reality and realize I can't go there unless I'm able to deal with high maintenance costs, inconvenience, and overall disappointment. Thus the dilemma remains. Will there ever be a replacement for my trustworthy LS430?

Wow, what you said is exactly my thoughts everyday

I believe Lexus will come back, this LS460 is just a low point for Lexus, and is really not that bad, just not as great as the LS430. I believe some future generation of the Lexus LS will be just as perfect as our LS430.

Just like Mercedes, the last generation S-Class was absolutely horrible, this current generation is back to being great again.
