Wiring Nighmare! (Pictures Inside)
I have been troubleshooting the passenger power seat in my 04 LS430, which stopped working some time ago.
Fuses in the trunk are fine.
I pulled the seat, and started probing voltages, it does not seem that I am getting voltage to the connector coming out of the floor that runs to the power seat motors.
I have continuity on the ground in that connector to the frame of the car, so it seems okay.
I ran wires from the battery straight to the connector on the power seat and was able to operate the seat while it was removed from the car.
I probed for voltage at the fuse box in the trunk, and I'm getting voltage going out of the fuse box on the red and blue wire that seems to run to the power seats.
I probed that wire for continuity to the power lead for the connector to the passenger seat and got nothing! It seems like there is a fault in the harness somewhere between the fuse box in the trunk and the connector in the floor.
At this point I think I am going to hack it and run a wire from the cigarette lighter in the console under the carpet to the seat to get it power. I hate to do that, but there is no way I could pull out that wire and find the fault, if that is in fact the problem. Is there anything you guys can think of that I might be missing?????
Attached is a factory wiring diagram of the power seat circuit, and an illustration of what I think is the fault in the harness. There only appears to be one power wire going out of the fuse box though and there are two power seats, and only one is getting power. So it seems like there is a junction not listed in this diagram or something. I'm really baffled!

it looks like you may be reading your diagram wrong. That wire you are on is for the B+ for the seat ECU which controls both seats. What you should be looking at is on the bottom of the drawing where it says PASS SIDE JBOX. there should be a 7.5A fuse MPX B1.

Well, whatever was wrong I hacked it and ran a lead from the cigarette lighter. Not the kind of fix I would like to do to my Lexus, but it's clean and works!
