Default lost power. please help

hey guys. i recently had the seats in my car re-upholstered and last night i had a huge problem. first, i was sitting in the car with one of my buddies, and he was moving the seat around. he was trying to get comfortable for a while and everything was ok until i moved my seat. i moved my seat back a little bit and my seats stopped working altogether. my telescoping wheel, windows, locks, and trunk release do not work as well. after that... my car wouldn't start. so we went through the fuse box and reset it. the car then started, but the same things that didn't work before still weren't working. so right now im driving around with my sunroof open and my front windows down. i also called the place that did the job and they said that it'd be a fuse. but my buddy and two good friends of mine have gone through every fuse in the floor panel and the engine bay. also... the part that i moved was the back part of the seat, so maybe a wire was in the track and it snipped it? who knows?

well sorry for the long post... but any help would be appreciated.

Thats a good place to start looking for a wire that now might be exposed. also does your car have seat heat? you should check all the wiring and connections. it sounds to me like something live is touching something that is also a ground. espescially if there are no blown fuses. check the charge on the battery too.

thank you so much for your response. it sucks driving around town and having your windows down the whole time. having to lock all your stuff in the glovebox everytime you park is also not fun. im really really hoping that it is a minor problem and that it can be fixed fairly easily. and cheaply at that. do you think itll be a big repair or fix? or do you think that it would be fairly minor?

thanks again for the help.

Cool

Might have bolted the seat on top of the power wire for the seats?

my guess is the seat moved until it cut and exposed the power wire. I think once you move the seat you will regain the use of the windows etc.
