Today's the day for me to put Pearl, the '02 LS430 up on jack stands and scrub the underside with soap and water and a brush.
Do any of you guys do this?
What about golf, fishing or just having a brew at the beach!
As of Jan. 1 of this year I am retired. Thus , after a lifetime of being told what to do by others, I do anything I take a liking to do. I don't golf, but I do a fair amount of boating.
I get a kick out of pampering my vehicles. I have had this LS less than two weeks and am in love with. The underside of these cars is a testiment to the complete engineering job Toyota did on the third gen. LS. I can see us driving this '02 ten years from now, still in pristine condition.
After a lifetime of being told what to do by others do what the heck ya want, I am enviouse! Sounds like yur a lucky man, LS lucky also.
I have been thinking about a boat lately might be trading the Camry in on a Toureg, on the Cayenne platform TDI with tons of torque, 7700 lb capacity. I am thinking about like a 22-23 footer and wondering what they weigh, average. Have a brew or beverage on the boat for us enjoy retirement I am 52 still have some time to be told what to do by others. I am getting less fond of that as I get older myself.
Just be careful physically getting under any car using jack stands. Make sure you have double back up in case a jack fails or gets knocked loose. One way is to remove wheels and put them under the door sills at four corners. Give you a chance to insect and clean the brakes. Pads can be removed and replaced in 5 minutes.

Warm, remember some useful aphorisms of boat ownership:
- A hole in the water you throw money into
- BOAT: Break Out Another Thousand
- The two happiest days for a boat owner: they day you buy it & the day you sell it.
I paid $9,300 for a boat in 1979, used it for 19 years and sold it for $7,000. It was one of the best purchases I ever made, countless hours spent with the kids when they were growing up. I hope my LS430 lasts half that long.
