RE: Warranty. I ended up with the Lexus "Platinum 5yr/60k from a Colorado dealer for $3700. That will take it out to 113,500 miles. (Actually, $3575 with $125 for mandatory safety inspection at the dealer's service dept.) Still not sure it's worth it, but the peace of mind has been nice. I figure if I ever want to sell, having a warranty might be a good selling point. The original price was $4200, but he came down when I told him an out of state dealer had offered the same coverage for $3700. Thanks again, vinodc for that heads up.

RE: Service. When at the dealer, I was impressed with the service, the waiting room, etc. But not sure I want to pay for the amenities. They said the 55K service (oil change and tire rotation) is usually $120. The 60K service is like $650. It's really not all that much stuff - a lot of "inspect this" and "inspect that" but the only real items are oil change, air filter, brake fluid change, and re-torque some bolts on the drive shaft. Seems a bit steep, even with free cookies, chips, and Wi-Fi. What percentage of these older LS's use the dealer and what percentage just use the local mechanic? I wonder if the warranty requires service at a dealership?

SIGNATURE: I read the fine print; it doesn't become accessable until you've met the 30day/30post rule. THAT's why I can't see it .... it's not there!

PHOTOS: Is there a way I can see photos of everyone's cars? I can look for posts, but is there any centralized collection? Or a place to see your cars? I wanna see that ok66 car, and vinodc, and the Cherry one, and all the good stuff. Mine -- I love it but it does kind of look like every other Gold '05 LS -- (except of course for the handsome dude in the front, the beautiful wife in the pax seat, and the cute kid in the back (who I'm yelling at to get her feet off the seat backs...!))

hey Denverdoc, I haven't posted pics of my car yet......and honestly dont even know how to(but i haven't tried doing it yet either!). My car has been in and out of the body shop/dealership/tire shop.....that I havent had a chance to take any pictures. I should get her back wednesday, so i'll take some pictures.....tho I would really like to wait till its been detailed next week. The car is going to the lexus dealership on thursday for an "inspection" and to have certain things fixed.

Nice automobile, ok66!! That dark finish really brings out the lines of the car, doesn't it! Classic good looks - dark color over that light leather.....
