Hi LS 430 members,

sorry to jump into this thread but I am looking to buy an 2004 LS 430 in Australia.

I read with dissappointment that the Australian Version of the LS430 doesn't have adjustable air suspension, and it would also appear that the intuitive rear parking assist screen doesn't have the red and green and yellow parking guidelines that assist you when reversing into a park either! - see the picture below (This pic is from a European LS430 Brochure)
So it is on the European models, but how about the USA models - does anyone have this? And could I retro fit another parking assist ECU into mine with the lines?? I spoke to Lexus in Australia and the person wasn't helpful at all.




Other later models of Lexus (such as the IS, GS and LS460 have this in Australia but not the LS430).

Your thoughts???

mu 05ls430 UL doesn't have the guidelines on it, but i think they are pretty useless in my opinion and the only people i know who have used them are women, and they still couldn't back up very good

 

The u.s. models do not and I did not even know the euro version did... guess Lexus realized you don't need this for mall parking or valet... :-)

I think there's a parking assist ECU in the LS430's, so I wonder if getting hold of a Euro version Parking ECU and plugging it in would work. I'm guessing there would probably have to be some other things needed as well - maybe a steering sensor or something. Might be too difficult and expensive to do.

 

Not worth it, plus the lines don't really help, more gimmick. If you can park, you can.park.... if you can't then short of auto-park nothing will help.
