Default Brake Fluid Change

I want to do a brake fluid change on my 03 LS430 and have one of those vaccuum brake bleeder tools. Is there anything special I need to do because of the anti-lock brake system or can I just suck the fluid out of the master cylinder, refill it and then bleed the system at all four corners? I've read some posts on the internet and have seen some conflicting information.

Thanks in advance guys.

Frank - I wish I had some specific info for you... I too have read conflicting info ...there are some references to potentially damaging the seals and/or diaphragm in the ABS system if incorrect process is used for brake fluid change or flush. I'd likely ask the parts or services guys at my local Lexus if I was gonna do it...see if there is some special procedure they follow on the LS.

to bleed the lines/calipers, you should be fine (just make sure you have the right bleed order, with modern ABS the line length is all screwy). It's when you have to bleed the MC and/or ABS pump that there's issues.

The manual for my 2004 states bleed farthest caliper from master cylinder and then all others (no specific order)... I started at right rear and went clockwise to do mine... worked like a charm. I used the 2 man pedal pump technique though.

note: we also did my buddies the same way (hence the two man technique, scratch my back and I'll scratch yours), which had been "bled" at the dealer last... 3 calipers were the same color as the master cylinder and one was green... looks like they forgot to do one! DIY is the way to go brother... highest quality assurance you can get!

Good luck!
