music you drive to
i used to be hooked on dubstep from like 01-03 (okinawa had some wicked dubstep clubs)
^ ^ ^ in denver there were a few somewhat underground dubstep places and this was about the closest thing i could find to dancehall since they occasionally hooked it up with some decent vybz... come to think of it i went to a few underground dub spots in oahu the 2 times i was there. this one spot either in or near honolulu had these crazy trippy paintings all over the walls which i guess was the after after hours spot. there were a few good places for reggae/dub in the honolulu area that i found on various 'trips'

.I also play a lot of Japanese and Korean pop, rock and R&B.

I mainly listen to anything live. Since the GS has DVD video capability, that is predominately what is played in the car. Classic rock mainly, as it's very hard to find other genre's on DVD. Anything from Tom Petty to Springsteen, Van Morrison, Otis, RATM, Metallica, Megadeth, The Roots, Jimi, Gov't Mule/ Warren Haynes, Buddy Guy....on and on. All depends on the mood and the drive. Oh, and you can't forget the ESPN. It's a necessity for the morning commute.

Here for the past year or so I have been searching for hip hop CD's from the "Golden Age" (early to mid nineties. I never listen to the radio so I find I am quite often totally out of touch with "pop" music. Here most recently it's been Souls of Mischief, the Alkaholiks, Pharcyde, etc. However I also like cruising to Moby's "Play" album and both of Kid Cudi's CD's. In 5-10 years I'll be the new version of that totally out of touch guy still jammin out to 8-tracks lol.
I saw this and thought that this was someone who appreciates some of the music I like - big band sounds from the golden age of the 30s & 40s. Guess I was wrong. LOL
My dad grew up in New York City and was a teen during the 30s. He met mom in the late 30s. She was from Ohio, working as the nanny for the family of the publisher of Look magazine. Dad became part of that extended family and attended concerts and afterglow parties where he got to meet many of the famous musicians and stage performers of the day.
My (much) older sister, 70, told me about a recent big band clarinet concert they attended. She said she could imagine dad walking the aisles at the hall and dancing with every woman who would. This was something he did into his late 80s - much to the consternation of our late mom and the lady he married late in life.
