Default '02 LS430 - loose fiber optic connector

Last night I upgraded the NAV. Removed the rear DVD and replaced the disc. Then I noticed that the fiber optic cable had come out of its blue connector. It was just sitting there loose.

I never noticed any problem. Is the fiber optic not used? Am I missing something?

I have the same thing. Nothing to worry about, it's just an old Lexus link system that was disconnected at one of the dealer appointments. Since Lexus went with a newer link system they mandatorily disconnected the old one.

Thanks, great info. So can I leave it connected?

No problem. I actually found that out at the dealer. If you like it aesthetically you can keep it plugged in. I left it unplugged.
