Default Everything (electrical) is going wrong

IT ALL STARTED WITH A WHINEING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE BAY...STARTED ONE DAY AND CONTINUED INTO THE NIGHT. MY NAVI STARTED FLICKERING ON AND OFF. GOT HOME TURNED THE CAR OFF. THEN IT DIDNT START BACK UP. WENT OUT IN THE MORNING AND IT FIRED RIGHT BACK UP.

REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, THAT FIXED THE NOISE. NOW...
MY CAR HAS A SORT OF ROUGH IDLE (WHEN YOU LET THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND LET YOUR CAR CRUISE AT 3-5MPH) ENGINE RUNS GREAT THOUGH AT NORMAL SPEEDS

THE A/C MAKES THIS NOISE ALTHOUGH THE AIR COMING OUT IS AS COLD AND QUICK AS IT WAS ON THE CARS FIRST DRIVE (NOT THE GURGLING NOISE, BUT A WOOOooooOOOOooooOOOO.. like an up and down)

TRIED CLOSING THE SUNROOF AND IT WOULD GO HALF WAY THEN OPEN BACK UP THEN IT FINALLY CLOSED AFTER THE 5TH ATTEMPT... (WTF)

THERES GOTTA BE A SHORT SOMEWHERE. THE DRIVETRAIN WORKS FINE (ASIDE FROM THAT WEIRD IDLE, WHICH DOESNT HAPPEN EVERYTIME)

I HAD AN AFTERMARKET HID FOGLIGHT GO OUT 2 WEEKS AGO...I DONT THINK THAT CAN CAUSE ALL OF THIS AND I REALLY DONT KNOW WHERE TO START. IM REPLACING THE SERPENTINE BELT AND TAKING THE FOGLIGHT OUT AFTER WORK TODAY (CHEAP AND EASY FIXES)

NO WARNING LIGHTS, NOTHING. ITS GOTTA BE PULLEY/BELT RELATED.

This is a somewhat unlikely long shot but sometimes an old battery about to fail can cause weird electrical related problems in an LS430. Is it possible the belt is on wrong, too lose/tight or even upside down?

Since you just replaced the alternator, how about putting that battery on a charger over night. It might be low on volts.

+1 on the battery. I replaced mine, still original, factory battery in 2009 when my mechanic said it's better now then later even though the car showed no symptoms of a bad battery. Not a problem since. Still, 8 years is a good age for an original battery. Replaced with an Interstate unit.

Took the fog light but didnt replace the belt yet. The belt is on correct with good tension on it (feels kinda dry so im gonna replace it)

this is wierd..the problem i described above about the idle and a/c...if those two things happen when i first start the car, i turn it off then start it right back up and the problems will be gone...notice my mirror visor light was pulsating last night (i have a fairly new battery, less than a year old, but i got it from wal-mart)

thanks for the input guys

if you had a bad alternator it could kill even a new battery. i would atleast have it tested if not charged

Like others have said, it's the battery. Witnessed this first hand.

My car is starting to act funny as well. The car sometimes wont recognize my key fob. I have to hit the button on the keyfob to unlock the doors. The battery in the key fob was just changed at 60k. Im not sure the car's battery was replaced as part of the CPO, probably not..... I don't want to get stuck this winter, maybe I'll change it to be safe.

FYI walmart batteries are junk, every one I've had from there crapped out in a year.

I've had the opposite experience. I've used WM batteries in a couple cars and my tractor with good success. I read that there are a very limited number of battery makers and most battery brands simply relabel batteries from these manufacturers - sometimes mixing or changing which manufacturer makes their batteries. Due to their sales volume and efficient distribution, WM batteries supposedly spend less time aging on the shelf between manufacture and use.

Changed the battery yesterday..all was well until my drive back to work from lunch about 15 minutes ago. the a/c noise and rough idle came back. I'm all out of ideas...although I did order a new drive belt and tensioner pulley (whole setup) and I'll be installing it next week. If that doesnt work, its gotta be the tensioner pulley actuator.

Ordered everything from Sewell. Cheap as hell once again and very happy! Did my rear brakes last night, so easy Stevie Wonder could've done it

Could it be happening when when the AC system is cycling on and off, it may be your AC clutch or AC compressor is bad or intermittently going bad.

This is the weird part, the air comes out at a constant flow and as cold as it ever has, there's just the up and down noise. Would a failing compressor affect either of those? It will go away if I turn off the car then start it again. Schit is just baffling the hell out of me. If the problem pops up again, ill turn the a/c off to see if that affects the idle. This problem is pulley/belt related. Im doing the cheap fixes myself..already replaced the alternator (bad bearing) and now I'm just waiting on my tensioner assemly ($76 from Sewell) but if thats not the problem I wont be mad bc it was cheap (plus its starting to squeak)
