Climate control temperature functions on steering wheel verses mileage gas distance functions.

Love the car, drove it for several hours today and was still amazed at how comfortable and quiet it is! I've never owned a car where I've raved about it for so long...it's been nearly a year and I'm still overwhelmed with compliments.

However, like many have said it's not perfect (but then again what is, right?). So here goes my list:

- Auto rain sense wipers could respond better. It sometimes goes full retard and wipes really quickly when there's hardly any drops on the windshield and vice versa when there's enough rain to begin to obstruct my view of the road.

- Bluetooth should be more compatible with modern phones and allow you to select contacts while the vehicle is in motion.

- Cassette player as many have said already,

- A compass display on the bottom of the gauges (instead of a redundant temp readout already at the top LCD screen) in the nav cars.

Really nitpicking at this point. Best car I've ever had by miles

i love my 05UL but if i could have designed a few things better here goes.

*better seat coolers (already mentioned)
*better cup holders in the front (already mentioned)
*the ability to use the cup holder and the arm rest in the back seat at the same time (my old 95 nissan/infiniti gloria/M was able to have the pop out cup holders
*slightly more cushioning on the front center arm rest, my old 99 gs400 center console was a pillow compared to a thick *** college chemistry book that my 05UL has
*stock side mirror blinkers (i added these atermarket on mine so no complaints now)
*better auto rain sensing wipers (great in moderate to heavy rain, really sucky in drizzle and light rain)
*updated NAV look and feel with a 3.5mm headphone in jack (but the car is an 05 so....)
*less big grey dash, although the UL is much better than the others...
*auto rear side window privacy screens (LS460L or 600hL )

Not a single thing. I don't use the cassette player, so it's easy enough for me to just ignore it.

1. MP3 capability
2. It's like they ran out of money when they got to the cupholders. EVERYTHING I put in there spills.
3. My auto-levelling doesn't work - it does when you first start the car (moves down, then back up). But nothing after that.
4. More cooling on the seats.
5. Definitely get rid of the headrest rising/falling with movement of the seat.
6. Ability to change options like #5 through the on-board computer. I had to pay the dealer to disable to the auto-tilt. Really? My 05 G35 allowed me to do this. Another annoying one is the sunshade retracting the minute you kick the car in reverse.

Agree on 6....I forgot about the annoying sun shade. If its so bright that you have the sunshade up then it is unnecessary to retract it when in reverse as its easy to see thru it..I think this is one of the "Nanny" options that Toyota forces on consumers.

or at minimum give consumers the ability to turn the feature off themselves! I can't imagine Toyota thinking that everyone must want every feature the way they designed it!

Well, if we've got some nits to pick...

- Individual spot lamps for front seats. Why can there only be one?
- Improve trunk motion and weighting, is the trunk open, is it not, and what force do you need to open/close. The trunk is one of the least graceful things about the car.
- Always on 12v. I don't want to have to turn the car on to get some juice, especially when charging a mobile phone or nav device.
- Single button for sunroof tilt and open functions.
- Less audio controls in nav screen like fast forward of CD.
- Back up camera would be nice.
- Less acceleration lag.
- Auto A/C mode that goes to head and feet.

And that's stretching it.

From a '01 LS Base + Nav/ML perspective.
