Default Erratic Fuel needle

hi guys

in the last few days my fuel needle has been playing up. It will be good for 2 days but all of a sudden itll drop to a different level and stay there for a few days although still reduce when fuel is used. Then itll jump back to where it should be.

Does anyone know why this is hapening>? Fuel sensors?, dirty fuel? anything?

It's probably the float sticking and then breaking free. Not to be unexpected with level of ethanol in tody's gasoline. Ethanol = corrosion.

I dont have a solution, but my 430 was doing the same thing for the first few weeks after I had purchased it.
I was on the verge of taking it to the dealership to get looked at, but it seemed to fix itself and has been working fine for the last month or two.

I been meaning to catch you on msn lately too Peter, but you dont seem to be online much.

I would start by looking at what brand of fuel you are using. Here in the U.S. I stick with Shell unless I'm on the road and then I choose another available national brand. If you have Techron available, try adding the recommended amount to a full tank of gas and run it down to about 1/4 before refueling.

im not really sure about that, but presence of dirt in the fuel tank MAY affect the gauge reading...
