When I bought my LS430 in the winter of 2010, one of my sons who was working overseas loaned me the money to buy the car. I paid him a better interest rate than he was getting from his savings account, I paid less interest than the credit union would charge for a 5 year old car, and he would have another source of monthly income when he returned to the U.S. and went back to college in the summer of 2010.

Fast-forward to now and he's working towards a DPT - doctor of physical therapy, engaged to be married to a nice woman with a steady job, and buying a house. We decided that I would repay the loan early so he can boost his down payment. As of this afternoon, the loan is paid in full. Woohoo!

Congrats on paying off the car. I hate having car payments so I have vowed to never have one again...unless something comes along that proves irresistable.

Also congratulations on your son having his ducks in a row. Yay on the DPT track. It is a rewarding career in a lot of ways.

LOL I'll be needing a foot guy later in life. I shattered my heel 10 years ago and it usually only hurts a little every day - for now.

ehhh.. that doesn't count . I'm sure your son wasn't going to inform the Credit Bureau to penalize your credit score for late payments etc or worse call the repo man

Hehe you can be my first patient. Then when you ask "how many times have you done this procedure?" I really can say "this is my first time..." and scare you lol.

Since I bought the car remotely, he insisted on seeing pics to verify it would be a car he would want to drive if I missed a payment.
