I bought a 2004 LS430 with 80,400 miles on it. As soon as it hit 85k, the maint req light came on. Is this "normal" service req? I know that 90k is a major service as well.

 

Yep, that's the standard 5K warning light. Time for an oil change and tire rotation. Check your owners manual for what is due and how to reset the light. Your choice on where to do the service: DIY, independent garage, or Lexus dealer with loaner, snacks, and drinks.
