Default I need a new spare wheel

One of my original 18" wheels somehow got "cracked" and will not hold air for more that a few days. The solution was to replace it with the spare. Thankfully, all 5 wheels are the same.

Where should I get a new spare rim? Should I go to the dealership? While I LOVE my dealership (wonderful service, great people, comfortable, nice loaners, etc) I am concerned that the prices will be higher and I am not convinced that I need a the identical wheel for a spare (am I being cheap)?

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Hutch

I would consider picking up any OEM LS430 wheel that usually pop up in the classifieds but you're going to have a hard time buying just one. You're right, it doesn't have to match, it's a spare for emergencies. Any LS430 wheel will do.

There are places on the internet that exchange and repair wheels. Google "wheel repair". Check that out - they send you a repaired wheel and you send them back your broken wheel and get the exchange credit. Much less expensive than buying a new wheel. Also you could check online junk yards for a single 18 inch Lexus wheel.

Watch craigslist and eBay - but beware of scams especially on craigslist. Also, go to your local foreign car recycler (FKA junkyard). They are now connected nationally and can usually source a used wheel for a reasonable price compared to the dealer.

Oh, welcome!

Thanks for the replies. I was not aware that wheels can be repaired. There is a wheel repair shop right by my work.

I will drop off the wheel next week and see what happens.
