Default Rear air struts

After taking my '04 LS430 UL to two dealers (one Lexus and one Toyota)only to be told my air suspension is fine, I have figured out that my left rear shock absober is shot at 73k miles. If I go over a speed bump with the right rear wheel everything is fine. When I do the same with the left rear wheel the suspension crashes to the stops.

That said, I went online to Sewell and the parts are not available online. That is my luck. So, how are other guys buying rear suspension parts?

Thanks for any help.

There are a few people selling stock air struts in the classifieds. If you dont mind buying used. Most people end up going aftermarket air or converting to coils when their stock air goes bad. I know Im going aftermarket soon as my stock air starts going bad.

Thanks, I'll check there. Trying to stay stock, much as I can.

Do try to pm Darrel (Sewell) here as they should carry the struts.

I did talk with Darrel this morning. Air struts are among a number of parts that are under restriction, ie- not available online. These parts are in short supply due to the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. He had no estimate for new stock.

I found a set of rear air struts at a different Lexus parts place; ~$880ea plus shipping. Now the big question.....how hard are these to install? Or should I find an independent shop to do the honors? Thanks for any advice.
