Default Radio stays on even after engine turned off?

So my radio stays on even after I turn off my car, even if I lock it. Wtf? I just noticed this today. It doesn't happen when I'm on "CD" mode though. It happens in AM and FM mode.

Any ideas?? It's an 04 LS430.

Hmm, is there a setup option for retained accessory power to work with the radio? Or maybe a previous owner fixed it for you.

Or rats chewed into your harness if you park outside.

That would be awesome... if it turns off when I open the door or something. But it just stays on! I can turn off the engine, open the door, and lock the car (with the remote, twice so the headlights turn off) and the radio is still on.

Well, for the time being I'm putting it on CD mode since the problem only seem to happen in radio (AM or FM).

Does the radio turn off after a number of minutes? I added a RAP module to my C5 vette that allowed continued radio and power window use for a settable amount of time after leaving the car.

The radio stays on indefinitely as far as I can tell. It just started happening yesterday...

Here was what I did to test it. I rolled down the driver's side window, turned the car off (in FM mode) & the radio stayed on. Then I got out and locked the car. I came back later like 20 mins and the radio is still on... So I assume it just stays on until the battery is dead.

this happened to my GS when i left it outside during a rainstorm. my radio, clock did not turn off, but eventually did. so i think there is a short caused by water getting through the windshield as the windshield was replaced by the previous owner.

This can be a real problem. I had the same thing happen in one of my LS400's a couple of years ago parked in my driveway with nearby Fig and Guava trees. They'd take the fruit into the warm engine bay and dine away. Unfortunately, they chewed thru a couple of electrical connections for dessert.

Here's a video I took this morning. And of course as I got to my car after work, my car would not turn over due to low battery.

Here's a thread from an M-B owner with same problem. (It may be ignition.)

the obvious question... do you have any aftermarket amps, lockpick, vais, etc. that might have been installed incorrectly?

I'm still not getting the battery dying. Are you saying you can't turn the radio off no matter what you do? You try to turn it off and it won't turn off no matter what?

Nope, on stock stereo.

From what I can tell, the audio will not turn off if I turn off the car in Radio mode. If I go to CD mode, the audio will turn off when I turn off the engine (as seen in the video).

I can turn off the audio completely (by hitting it off) and then turning the car off. But then I don't wanna do that all the time, and it's not fixing the true issue at hand.
