I just joined the club with a 2002 LS430. Its black on black, probably base model with 16 inch wheels.
Its quite an upgrade from my 1996 Avalon. And I seem to have gotten a good deal but I have yet to fully go over her. Its got 159,000 miles with recent timing belt/water pump/tuneup. No dings, a few chips on the leading edge of the hood but great interior/drivers seat. I got it for 9600.00 from the second owner. He said he replaced the front wheel bearings at 100,000 or so and the ac compressor.
I am very happy with it so far, the one issue is an airbag light on the dash. i really like the torque and smoothness.
At this sub 10000 price I couldnt even find a good camry or accord. people looking for a lexus want lower miles and people looking for a regular car go straight to the camry/accord and assume they cant even get a better car or it will have expensive maintainance. The lexus has all the parts readily available though- ill be doing the work myself so that is huge for me.
Thats great you can do your own work, the guys on this forum are really bright to help you. My LS has 122 k on it without a lick of trouble, knock knock. For 9600 bucks it is a sweet ride.
yeah man check that light out... im still kinda new on this forum too but from what i can see they have everything here. NO JOKE. 2001 LS430 Blk/BLK I just hit 159900 today, lol.... good luck with yours... aint had a problem out of mine at all, just regular maintenance keep ur oil changed and keep riding clean and smooth
