Question Climate Control illumination

One of the backlights has failed on my Temp up/down controls. On my older model Lexus one lamp would illuminate several buttons with the use of light pipes. In the LS, the passenger and master controls are seperate from the main unit. Regardless, Im having trouble removing the CC head unit. I have the radio, CD changer, etc out but there appears to be security screws securing the Nav/CC unit.
Does anyone have experience accessing these backlight lamps?

I believe a member on here did a full LED swap of all this interior backlights for the buttons

EDIT: Here's a link to the LED light swaps:

Very nicely done by RomanTPA who still posts here frequently.

OP: If you're talking about the temp control on the sides of the dash, I believe that you find a small gap and gently pry out with a screwdriver.

Thx carguy89
I almost tried pulling the switches out that way but wimped out. I'll give it a try. Sounds like I was going at it from the wrong direction.

I would wrap something around the screwdriver so that it doesn't scratch up your dashboard. I have never personally done it, just heard about it here.

Got it
I removed the center panel on the switch assembly (the one that says "Passenger Temp")
This allowed me to insert a screwdriver and apply a bit of side to side pressure, enough to wiggle the assembly out of the dash. At this piont the bulb was easily accessible. It uses the same little $5 lamps that my '98 GS400 used.
Thanks again for the support.
