Default Headlamp not working properly

Hello - I've been told the reason my left headlight is not burning with the same bright intensity as the right one is that I need a new headlamp ECU. I've located several pre-owned parts that I think will fix the problem but I'm unsure if they are the same thing I need. One is called an HID BALLAST, the other name is and HID module. 1. Are these the same part 2. Are these the same as and headlamp ECU/

Thanks

Its not burning at the same kelvin temp because someone was too cheap to replace both headlamps at the same time, as is required with HID bulbs. You simply need to replace both bulbs at the same time with a 4300-4500k bulb set and your problem will be solved.

Thanks but I don't think that's the problem. I've the replaced both headlamps with new 4300k bulbs. The left headlamp is barely lit. You can hardly notice its working

The headlamp ECU / ballast refer to the same part. I'd try swapping the bulbs left to right just to verify its not the bulb, then move on to the ballast replacement.

This other active thread will give you some more info. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...004-ls430.html

You can get the part on ebay or hidplanet.com, it should run you no more than 60 bucks, its called a ballast, they come in many hid equipped toyota made vehicles.

Thanks. A lot better information than I received from the dealership here in Indy. They suggested i replace the entire headlamp @ $2600.

If anyone knows of a reliable source that shows how to remove the bumper and headlamp that would be great.

Be safe
