Just bought my 2nd Lexus. This one is an 04 LS430, moonlight pearl, 42k miles, beautiful condition except the chrome 17" wheels are peeling pretty badly. I bought it for my wife and now I'm very jealous.

Congratulations! I know the first two requests from the group are going to be "what did you pay" and "where are the pictures"!

You must post pics and of course we all want to know the price. Why else would be be on this site? Good luck with the new ride.

For me it's to procrastinate writing boring essays, such as the one I have to do for class tomorrow: 'how/why were American women increasingly removed from the nation's public and professional life' based off satire from Mark Twain.

The center cap area can peel, any fixes? I sit a steel wheel or aluminum? Steel right?

Interesting! Have you come up with a thesis for your paper yet? Your fellow gear-heads can help!

^well according to Twain's satire on Adam and Eve, both man and woman seemed equally suited to do things outside the house, but the man was so terrible with things within the house (he thought the baby the woman found was a fish..then a kangaroo...then a bear (you have to read the book to understand what I'm on about). So the way I saw it, it was more that the man got squeezed out by default because the woman was so much more competent around the house than the man.

Sry for going so OT lol

I believe the stock painted and chrome wheels are aluminum. My chrome wheels are beginning to peel on the inside. At least I won't be running them through the winter. I suspect I'll be replacing them within a couple years.

...and because we were squeezed out of the house, we had to settle for the garage, which is why we love cars so much! Wow - we just cracked the whole of human evolution in about a half dozen sentences! How long does your paper have to be?

I paid 19k, and it is what I guess you would call a base model. No smart key, no nav, no ultra, no ML. Even w/o all that it's a lot of car for the price of a loaded Fiesta. Just missed an 04 Ultra with 36k for 18,000, but I hesitated because it was white on white. It went quick. I called on the one that I bought as soon as it hit Craigslist and the po told me that he had calls on it all day. The wheels on mine are chrome over aluminum. Refinished chrome replacements are about $350 (not from Lexus) and having my wheels refinished will be a couple of hundred bucks each. I'll post some quick pics as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Does it have cooled front seats? If not, it truly would be a base model. If it has the cooled seats, it is premium.

Yes it has cooled front seats and some type of audio upgrade (cd changer if I remember right). I have the window sticker but it is in the car.
