Default color change opinion

Over the years i have had the usual dings, dents, scratches and rubs like you would get from driving around nyc. I am going to do a overall spray of the car next spring. I was considering changing the color from silver to pearl white. I wanted to get some opinions from my lexus family on that. I have black interior so i think the combo would look great. What do you guys thing?????

I think when you find out how much more it costs to change the color ( you have to paint the door jams, under the hood, under the trunk etc,. you'll probably change your mind ..... but with a black interior, any color paint you like will look fine.

it's cost prohibitive. might as well sell yours and find one with less miles and the right color combo

Pearl white is a beautiful color. Very hard to match also if you need a repaint.......dont forget that

i say do it, but if you do, do it right.. and like stu said, its like 5k+ to do it right so keep that in mind. if your going to go cheap i say don't do it.

How the hec do you clean the engine area, prep it, and spray it without taking out the engine? I assume you would not want any telltale signs it is a repaint.

As previously stated, getting all of it changed is the problem when changing colors. To really do it right you have to almost completely strip the car if you are changing colors and want it to look like a factory quality job. Repainting with the same color is much less labor intensive (and labor = $$$).

Agree with previous post - it may be better to just sell it and buy the color you want.
