In a prior post i mentioned getting new hid bulbs for my headlights since one of them recently burnt out.. Well now that i have gotten familiar with HID lights i was considering putting in some led bulbs in where my fogs are.. I swas thinking about the 61-led blue bulbs that i see on ebay.. I know from the price point of view, it can be a pretty cheap mod.. But i also think going HID in the fog area might look a little cooler, but more expensive as well as me wondering if i would get any error codes or something by removing the regular bulbs and going that route... Anyone have pics of HID fogs and LED fogs on there LS430? If so im looking for suggestions... ALSO FYI i got cool blue hid bulbs for my lowbeams coming in, so i thought the LED Blue bulbs in addition to those might trick it out a little.. any comments would be great...
led's only look cool when looking at them, like pedestrians looking at you driving. hid's will look to them looking at you and you looking at the road at night time. 9006 hid kit from hid extra.com is what i gots (6k) and i am very pleased with how it looks as well as the amount of usable light it puts out. hella bright as they say in cali. no errors either and the kit is like $70 for the 9006 fogs, its all plug and pray.
did you have to mount the ballast yourself, or did you have someone do the install... I saw the DIY for the led bulb replacement, that looked easy enuff... i just never hooked up an hid kit before... thanks for the input
I would do HID for fogs. I have factory Toyota ballasts with toyota HID bulbs in my LS. It was plug n play. I mounted the ballasts to the car with screws to the plastic ducting nearby.
i would got with HID bc its more functional and cheaper than LED. But, where in the world did you find LED bulbs for fogs that are under $43 a pair????
