Actually, Toyota's (and Lexus') fog lights have always been designed run independantly of the main headlamps, simply with parking lights, except in teh US. No mod is needed.

Technically. It is Plug and play. Everything bolts up, but the problem is, the bulb bases are very slightly different and it causes the kit bulbs not to be able to turn all the way into the locking position. For example, the original bulb goes in at about 4 o'clock position. You then turn the bulb clockwise until it clicks into the 6 o'clock position. The new bulbs just don't allow enough of a turn to make the bulb snug and in the proper orientation. As far as I know, it is not user error as this is pretty frigging simple to do.
I put everything back together on my car and am awaiting Romans write up or to see I he finds he same thing. I had feeling that this was too good to be true. Who knows, maybe it will have a happy ending, but I know I wont be doing any fabricating that's for sure.

It is user error, Lust, I had the same issue until I shoved my big a$$ head in there to see whats going on and why it didnt fit. The problem is that unless you push bulb all the way in, it will not turn into blace. the design on those fog housings is odd, what happens is that there are 3 screws that are holding the bulb in place (that you might or might not need to loosen)

Bottom Line
100% plug and play
100% Direct Fitment
100% No modding
100% No cutting

Ooops, forgot, write up is here, 2nd post.

I see the screws you are talking about, however, I tried to loosen those screws. Mine are slightly different, in fact the 2004 housing it slightly different , and the screws are so tight, that I can't seem to untighten them without stripping them. I don't know how to take out my housing to get at them in order to unscrew them properly. I tried, but i need some sort of nubby screw driver. They look great! How do they light up the road? I might just sell my kit here. I had my fill of opening up the undercarriage. Unless you know the secret of getting the whole housing out easily- don't want to destroy my car. Thanks!

Here we go, a year later, I am off to put in my HIDxtra fogs that have been in hibernation in my closet. I don't want another year passing by and I want them in before winter. I'm going to do it next week in my fathers garage. ROUND 2....FIGHT!

Never got around to trying again. The kit is still in a box up in my closet. Had so many other fish to fry, I forgot about them. Maybe come spring......
