Default So long fellow LS owners.....

so I have traded my LS and just wanted to thank everyone that has helped me all along when I owned the car. I did look at another LS but I am currently disgusted at the quality and feel of the LS460s... Drove a few of them with 30k to 48k and every one them drove miserable!! The plastics felt cheap... The squeaks were abundant... Driving in a totally nice north shore back road!!

Nothing lined up as well as my 95 and on the whole the car didn't feel solid!! The glove box rattled.. Didn't line up.. The speaker covers on the dash felt flimsy.,. And didn't line up with rest of the dash!!

Just didn't have the quality feel anymore!! I guess my next land yacht won't be a LS anymore!!

I remember back when you roamed the LS4 forums with us. Off to better things I guess. What did you get? Maybe I'll see you on another forum some day, because I probably wont pick up a LS460 either.

Best of luck to you, sir.

Hate to see you go, as you are one of the few true car guy, tell it like it is. I feel exactly the same way as you regarding the LS460/600. I will pay a whole lot of attention on the new Hyundai land yacht the Equus, as there is nothing but great things coming from Hyundai lately.

So what did you traded your LS for?

You have traded an LS430 for an LS400?

I was told that the ls430 was sooo much better...Civic to ls430 comparison.

Really didn't want to go but I needed to get a 4wd. Leased a Venza since they are giving these things away!! I drove the new 7 and I think that could be the next big car I might get.... Or the new S63 with the 5.5 twin turbo!

Well the LS430 is a nice car but I couldn't see myself owning three rear wheel drive cars in NY... I might get a Ucf21 as a daily driver if I find a very clean low mileage car!!

Fyi from CarConnection.com's review of the Equus:

"After a brief drive in U.S.-spec cars in Korea, we’re able to draw some early conclusions about the Equus. At a base price of around $55,000, the Equus presents an intriguing alternative to the Lexus or the Lincoln, but performance isn’t quite as sharp, nor is it intended to be as sporting, as that of the Infiniti M or the German trio of top-line four-doors: S-Class, 7-Series and A8. Its V-8 throbs with horsepower, but handling’s less confident than any BMW, maybe even less than the sedate Lexus LS."

Gotta admit, tho, it's one helluva good looking vehicle:

Thanks for telling. I like the Venza too, I like how wide it looks.

If I ever go Euro, the S63 with the new 5.5 Turbo would be my choice too

I came across a mint low mileage UCF21 for sale about 2 years ago, I wanted it so bad as it is definitely the cheapest ultra nice daily driver exist. But I didn't need any more car at the time, to this day I still think about that car

We have the same taste in cars

Yeah I am predicting the Equus will be like the Genesis sedan too, very nice but still not quite as refine as a Lexus. It is definitely great looking with a big discount!

I mean if I ever need to replace my LS and the LS460 still suck, and I need another good value land yacht the Equus would be very high on my list.

The journey is a challenge. I still enjoy our aging LS but the time will come for it to go to pasture. I hope that what is available will meet the experiences we've had with this LS. At 13 years as of June, it has been a fantastic car and nearly 95% of what I held Toyota in esteem for. Damn sunroof shade still rattles. I've had that experience since '85.

Enjoy the new ride. We'll be looking for you with the 5-LS then.

Hehe.... Seems like it. The Hyundai is nice and frankly a cheap sonata looks and feels better than the new LS... It's a shame and more n more I think abt it I get pissed!! How could Toyota do this to a legendary car in the name of saving a few bucks...

This is how the American companies went down the drain and I see Toyota down that path in the future. Even the venza has a lot of cheap crap in there... If you guys get a chance take a look at the interior of the new sienna.... You might throw up at the quality... A measly chevy aveo has that kind of quality!!
