LS430 IPHONE/IPOD/Bluetooth Question
Which IPOD/IPHONE kit could anyone recommend? I saw the VAISTECH and the SCOSCHE model... anyone have either of these installed in their LS430. Want to be able to listen to the music on my Iphone in my car. Second question does anyone have any issues with their factory bluetooth and their Iphone? Sometimes, when I accept a call using the factory navigation, my phone still rings after I've accepted the call... maybe I need a different phone for use with my LS430. I'd appreciate any information or suggestions you could make. Thanks.
Can't comment on the iPod kits...
I've been using a Samsung i8910 and haven't really had any issues with the Bluetooth connection. It's nice because it automatically connects to the car whenever I turn it on. It would be hit or miss with my old Garmin GPS unit though.
I've accepted calls using the navigation just fine, but haven't placed calls using it. I can make calls from my phone just fine and when it connects it automatically transfers the call to the onboard systems. I suppose the only oddity is that I don't hear the ringing through the car - it'll automatically switch after the call has connected.
The only other thing I can't do is automatically transfer contacts from my phonebook. Apparently it works fine with officially supported phone models though.

it plays music too¿¿¿ ^ ^ ^
but seriously though VAISTECH seems to be what most people on here use.
The Vaistech with a 160GB iPod is just like having installed a hard drive in you car with all the control features that are available in the car. If you import your music from iTunes with the music in playlists you will be able to see the album/artist name and the name of each song on the nav scree as it plays. Stick the iPod in the glove box and don't touch it until you want to add/change music to it. I never use my CD player now.
