I saw a model history summary that said the 2013 added an iPod interface. Is this meaningful? I assume that I could use my iPhone for music and phone via Bluetooth.

2014 adds “Siri hands-free technology”. Is that something beyond just saying “hey Siri”?

Fundamentally, I’m trying to decide if there’s a model year that I don’t want to cross.

Don’t need iPod interface if you use a smart phone. Bluetooth is needed for the Lexus app suite and pandora, etc.

Apple siri eyes free is the precursor to apple car play, I never have found a listing of commands but ‘call’ and ‘text’ seem to work ok in my 2015.
