Default Motor for outside mirror

For the second time, the motor that opens and closes the outside mirrors has malfunctioned. The first time this happened, the motor had to be replaced. The motor alone was over $700 plus labor. Before I pay this amount again, I wanted to see if there are any other options. Does anyone sell rebuilt or used motors? Can these motors be repaired? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks very much.

FWIW, that's just how mine started. After a month or so of that, then the steering wheel motor started failing too. Then, after a few days of all of them failing regularly, the battery went completely dead.

I replaced the battery and haven't had a single problem since (and that was late March). Was told a bad cell causes such problems. Is your battery very old ?

My battery is almost new but I will check to see if the motor went before or after the battery was installed. Thanks for the reply. Did you have your mirrors replaced by the dealer?

No, luckily - I would have spent a lot of money if I started doing that first. I just tolerated it for a month or so.

I still can't understand how a bad cell in the battery can cause such problems, but .......
